      OmniTrader -$395 - $695
      • OmniTrader is the only software that completely automates the market analysis process using proprietary ARM "intelligent" system testing technology.

        The software collects market data each day, applies 120 proven trading strategies to each security, and creates a list of hot prospects for you to evaluate, checking current news and fundamentals if desired.

      • Provide full charts, backtests, trading simulator and portfolio.

      MetaStock ($349)

      • MetaStock is an extremely powerful charting package with plenty of indicators & charting tools, the ability to create your own custom indicators & systems, and multimedia "gurus" that give you their expert advice via audio/video on-screen.
      • But MetaStock leaves the analysis up to you – you must already have a strategy that effectively lets you screen the market for winning buy/sell opportunities.
      • OmniTrader compliments MetaStock very well – you can get your prospects from OmniTrader and then use MetaStock to conduct further analysis on your prospects.

      Features: Windows 32-bit, lots of charting tools & indicators, lets you create & test your own trading systems, multimedia "gurus" tell you their interpretations of their indicators, access to Reuters Money Network’s news and fundamental data, options module, Microsoft Office certified with Object Oriented Interface (i.e. right-mouse click to all features) and OLE (e.g. seamless import/export with Word, Excel, etc.), currently the Windows version is only end-of-day – but a Windows real-time version is coming.

      AIQ TradingExpert ($695)

      • AIQ’s TradingExpert is a sophisticated Artificial Intelligence trading system which generates signals with rankings, but the conditions in the system are not customized for different securities (i.e. the conditions are applied the same way with the same settings to all stocks, futures and mutual funds).
      • AIQ’s TradingExpert is not as easy to use as OmniTrader simply because it tries to do so many things (charting, news, signal ranking, etc.).

      Features: Windows 32-bit, lots of charting tools & indicators, portfolio manager, news from Dial/Data, currently only end-of-day – haven’t heard anything about real-time version coming.

             Window On Wall Street (Several Versions from approx. $49 to $1,500)
      • Window On Wall Street is a very good charting and analysis package with indicators, charting tools, news, and approximately 20 trading systems based on technical and fundamental conditions – but the conditions in the systems are not customized for different securities (i.e. the conditions are applied the same way with the same settings to all stocks, futures and mutual funds).
      • Does not let you test multiple systems on multiple securities to get a list of prospects.

      Features: Windows 32-bit, lots of charting tools & indicators, lets you create & test your own trading system, automated news and headline retrieval, just released real-time version called "DayTrader" which is very similar to the end-of-day product.

      SuperCharts End-of-Day ($395 or 4 payments of $98.75 with 0% APR)

      • SuperCharts End-of-Day is quite a bit like MetaStock – it is a very good charting package with lots of indicators, charting tools, and the ability to create your own custom indicators & systems.
      • But SuperCharts End-of-Day leaves the analysis up to you – you must already have a strategy that effectively lets you screen the market for winning buy/sell opportunities.
      • Comes with about a dozen trading systems, but they are only there as example on how to write your own systems – the included systems lose money if you trade with them.
      • Does not let you test a system on multiple securities at the same time or test multiple systems on one security at the same time to find which system works best on that security.
      • You have to create a chart of every security you want to test a system on first, then apply the system to each chart.

      Features: Windows 16-bit, lots of charting tools & indicators, lets you create & test your own trading system.

      SuperCharts Real-Time ($1,199.40 or 12 payments of $99.95 with 0% APR)

      • SuperCharts Real-Time is exactly like SuperCharts End-of-Day, plus the ability to collect price/volume data and news on an intra-day basis.

      Features: Windows 16-bit, lots of charting tools & indicators, lets you create & test your own trading system, intra-day charts & quotes but you cannot automate trading systems in real-time (only on an end-of-day basis), news.

      TradeStation ($2,399.40 or 12 payments of $199.95 with 0% APR)

      • TradeStation contains all the features of SuperCharts Real-Time, plus the ability to create & test very sophisticated systems with hundreds of conditions, automate your trading systems in real-time and set your computer to send messages to your alphanumeric pager.

      Features: Windows 16-bit, lots of charting tools & indicators, lets you create & test very sophisticated trading system, news, alphanumeric pager feature.
